The foundations of BORN were established in 1985. The product concept led to a true revolution in the field of sports nutrition and body care. The man behind these developments was Dr. Wim Jennen (1957-2005). When he graduated from pharmacy, he was able to combine his knowledge and skills with practice: he was a more than worthy cyclist (including a silver medal at the Edmonton Universiade in 1983 and a member of the famous Dutch cycling team Amstel) and developed products that adapted to a sporty body. Product development started in a pharmacy, located in a city called Born, the Netherlands. When developing products, a lot of importance is placed on convenience in addition to effectiveness. Bars should be easily digested, gels should be easy to drink, and sports drinks should be well tolerated by the stomach and do not need to be too sweet.
