Carbon road bikes

Although the main disadvantage of carbon bicycles is the price, the truth is that when all its advantages are known, its high cost is understood:

Cushions shock and rattle: Carbon is a more elastic material than aluminum and, therefore, better absorbs the swings, shocks and vibrations of the road. This is especially true on mountain bikes but also on road bikes, as the rattle is transmitted to the carbon frame and the carbon frame dampens it.

More flexible and innovative design: Carbon fiber is moldable and allows you to play with the shapes of bicycle frames, so this component makes much more original models. In contrast, the aluminum designs are more predictable because the material gives much less play in the design.

Hardness and consistency: The stiffness of carbon is a double-edged sword because, on the one hand, stronger bikes are achieved and the force transmitted to the pedal is greater (an aspect that cyclists like), but on the other hand it is a more fragile material and easier to break and, although it can be fixed, the result will never be the same.

Lightweight and agile: Carbon road bikes generally weigh much less than aluminum ones. Being lighter they provide greater agility to the cyclist and make it possible for him to focus his strength on the legs during the race. Carbon frames usually weigh around 500 grams, while aluminum frames exceed them considerably.

Individuality and own characteristics: Carbon is a moldable material that allows adapting the characteristics of the bicycle to the tastes or habits of each one. For example, the bicycle can be made to offer greater stiffness at some points and less at others. It also allows to distribute the weight by zones for greater comfort of the cyclist.
