To maintain any physical activity our body needs energy. The energy stores of glycogen are depleted as we persist in the exercise and after the first hour it is advisable to take a carbohydrate supplement to maintain intensity and lengthen the exercise time. In addition to the essential hydration, the consumption of between 40 to 50 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise is recommended.
In gels, the amount and type of carbohydrates we eat is very important since both aspects have a great influence on their absorption and, therefore, on their final effectiveness. Gels containing highly concentrated mixtures of glucose and fructose have a high osmolarity, which slows absorption at the intestinal level, while intestinal absorption increases when using a carbohydrate source from partially hydrolyzed starches or maltodextrins, which have low osmolarity.
The ISOPOWER GEL sports supplement contains a maltodextrin as a carbohydrate source, which gives it an appropriate assimilation for a gel that is capable of providing 24 g of carbohydrates.

Tips for using the gels:
Absolutely all the gels are more or less diluted, they must be taken with water, between 300 and 500 ml of water depending on the type of gel. If it is during a race, it can be taken a few meters before the refreshment station.
Do not take gels together with isotonic drinks, at least 20 minutes must pass since the last electrolyte drink intake.
RECOMMENDED DAILY DOSE
Lemon gel with caffeine: take 1 gel during exercise with 300 ml of water. Do not take at night.
Orange gel: take 1 to 4 gels during exercise with 300 ml. of water.
