The covers of a wheel are essential to avoid possible accidents such as punctures or slipping, since they are the part of the wheel that is in direct contact with the terrain we are driving on. That is why it is important to choose a quality cover that adapts to the environment in which we circulate with our vehicle. These covers are ideal for mountain routes.
The tire consists of the following elements: carcass, tread and bead wire.
Carcass (tire armor) generally made of rubberized fabric. Nylon is the most commonly used fabric. The number of "threads per inch" (TPI) gives an idea of the fineness of the yarn weaving and the softness of the carcass.
Tread or tread is the part in contact with the asphalt. A good performance tread is a mixture of rubber, silica (SiO2), carbon black and other polymers, high-end products use blends of Kevlar® fibers and proprietary polymers. The tread pattern depends on the intended use of the rubber: from smooth for dry and easy terrain, to knobby for wet and uneven terrain.
Bead wire are circular strands of wire embedded in the bead on the inner circumference of the tire.
