The fruit of many hours of study and testing, the AIR 9 RDO is presented as an indisputable improvement on the always praised rigid rally frame. And, to meet the ever-changing demands and riding styles of mountain bikes, the Air 9 has changed its geometry to ensure even greater versatility, durability and performance. As with the RKT 9 RDO, the height of the handlebar has been reduced on the new Air 9 to put the rider in an attack position and ready to load. In addition, it is now compatible with 120mm travel forks, which greatly increases your possibilities when it comes to descending on trails or demanding trails. The chainstays have been shortened by 4mm at the rear, leaving them at 435mm, thus improving acceleration without sacrificing stability. The revision of the geometry and the design has also made it possible to lengthen the distance between the front wheel and the bottom bracket, mount 38-tooth chainrings and maintain the width of the tires. As regards the bottom bracket area, this increases its robustness and now allows mounting them in any size and combination.

Rigid frame
The new Air 9 RDO is our expression of the classic twenty-nine carbon hardtail. We learned a lot from the early days and applied that knowledge of geometry and materials to meet the ever-changing demands and riding styles of the modern mountain biker. The result? Our best high performance hardtail to date. The Air 9 RDO incorporates all the versatility, durability and performance you have come to expect from Niner.
Bold design
The identity of this painting is updated with a bold design aesthetic. Continuing the lineage that began with the RKT 9 RDO, the strong, overbuilt shapes that define the front triangle have been designed to improve stiffness and pedaling efficiency. Another highlight is the di├ um of the seatpost, which is now 27.2mm. to increase comfort.

Do it your way
If its ultra-light simplicity, clean looks (and a tough workout) aren't enough for you, set your AIR 9 RDO to singlespeeed. This frame is compatible with our BioCentric 30 bottom bracket system. You can configure the bike with a single sprocket and chainring, and then easily tension the chain with our patented BB eccentric insert. We've been purist mountain bikers since the early days of 29-inch wheels and this frame has been one of the most popular for this reason. The PF30 bottom bracket shell offers us many options regarding the transmission, regardless of your preference. And if you mount a transmission with pinions, the internal cable routing is super simple and easy to maintain. Even better, this box is ready to use Di2 electronic controls.
RDO carbon fiber
Carbon fiber is common, but care, quality, and attention to detail are not. Niner RDO carbon fiber is superior cut. We start with the best grades of layered raw carbon, precisely according to the stress points in the frame structure. In construction, our process employs rigid internal molds and results in a tighter and more consistent compaction of the carbon weave. The result? Greater precision in wall thickness and reduced build-up of resin in the final product. We can build more elaborate frames with a better ride fit, increased strength, outstanding durability, and less weight.

In an age where internal cabling and changing drivetrain options are a reality, the Air 9 features a window under the bottom bracket to make work easier. By pulling the plate, you get instant access to the cables without removing the connecting rods.
