Specially treated DARTs not only plug large cuts and punctures in your tires, they react with Stan's sealant to form a permanent airtight bond. This reloading kit contains five DARTs and a holder that makes recharging your DART tool quick and easy, all stored in a compact, sealed container. When designing the DART, we looked closely at existing repairer technology and found many ways to make important improvements. Unlike large, sharp insertion tools that can damage tire tape and cause punctures to open up even more, DARTs are safer, easier to use, and much more effective at sealing damaged tubeless tire. Each DART includes a sonically welded, reinforced plastic tip that anchors into a puncture safely to tires, tire tape, and hands. Attached to each spike tip is a specially shaped laser cut material treated with a solution that reacts with the latex sealant. Continuous improvement has resulted in a shape and material that resists fraying and tearing to seal even tough punctures. Being more flexible than traditional tire plugs, the DART material can better conform to the shape of a cut or puncture. This special material is also much lighter than conventional tire plugs and is not felt when rolling, even on a road tire. That means a DART does not need to be trimmed after inserting it, unlike other systems that can be accidentally removed in the driving process if not trimmed.
