In this section you will find a wide selection of air pumps from the best brands, personally chosen by our workers given their quality guarantees and their experience in the field. That's why our selection of air pumps is among the best on the market, as we only sell products we know we can trust.
In its most basic form, a bicycle pump is powered by a manual piston. During the up stroke, the piston draws air through a check valve (one way) from outside the pump. During the downstroke, the piston compresses the air from the pump towards the bicycle tire. Most vertical pumps, also called pedestal pumps, have a built-in pressure gauge that indicates tire pressure.2
Care must be taken when using an air pump service station. Some are designed to cut before the high pressures used in bicycle tires reach. Others operate at such high pressure that the tire can burst. There is also a slight difference between modern car or bicycle Schrader valve criteria, which causes poor adjustment of some valves in gas station pumps.
