The Foundation wheels are a tribute to the original ENVE road wheels that were introduced to the market in 2007. Each wheel in the Foundation collection features a multitude of exclusive technologies essential to earning the "best in class" designation. These wheels benefit from a knowledge base based on more than a decade of development of the dynamic wheels of the Premium Smart ENVE System (SES) range. In order to obtain the low tread performance and the high stability provided by the tire shapes, ENVE has adopted the general lines of development of SES tires, the main difference between Foundation and SES as long as the tire geometries are matching (front and rear) while the SES rims have shapes specially optimized for the front and rear positions of the bike. Thanks to this development, the ENVE Foundation offers similar or better train reductions than competitive wheels, even the most sophisticated ones. ENVE Foundation wheels are only compatible with Tubeless tires, please note that these wheels have been designed to be most effective when paired with a 25mm tubeless road tire, of course they are compatible with Tubeless tires mounted in an air chamber for the most reluctant. Please note that the brand defines a list of compatible tires. Hookless Wide Bead The ENVE Foundation is also equipped with ENVE's hookless wide bead technology. This technology is defined as a large area of the rim flanges. By creating this greater width, impacts from edges, bumps, and broken pieces are distributed over a larger area, reducing the likelihood of punctures when pinching. In addition, this feature increases the impact resistance of the rim.
